    Privacy Policy

    Effective September 1, 2026

    Last updated: September 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information TalkiBar, Inc ("TalkiBar", "we", "us") collects through the TalkiBar mobile application and website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

    1. Who We Are and How to Reach Us

1.1 TalkiBar is operated by TalkiBar, Inc, a Delaware corporation with its registered office at Israel, Majdal Shams, Road 98. TalkiBar is operated from outside the United States, and our personnel access the information described in this policy from abroad.

1.2 You can reach us at [email protected] with any question about this policy or about your information.

    2. Information You Give Us

2.1 Account. Your name, email address, and, if you sign in through Facebook, Google, or Apple, the account identifier that service gives us.

2.2 Profile. Your date of birth, gender, nationality, profile photograph, the languages you speak and want to practice, your city, your living status, your interests and favorite board games, and your answers to our onboarding questions about speaking comfort, how you form opinions, and why you joined.

2.3 Preferences. What you tell us about who you would like to meet, including age range and whether they are local, new to the city, or visiting.

2.4 Bookings. The events you book, attend, and cancel, and the credits on your account.

2.5 Messages. Messages you send other participants, including text, photographs, and voice notes.

2.6 Reports. What you tell us when you report a participant or content, or write to us through Contact Us.

2.7 Meet Again. After an event, whether you would like to meet a particular participant again, have no preference, or would rather not.

2.8 Invitations. If you invite someone to TalkiBar, we record that the invitation came from you and, once they join and book, that they qualified you for a referral credit. If you accept an invitation, we record who invited you.

2.9 Waitlist. If you ask to be told when TalkiBar opens in a city, we keep your email address and the city you asked about.

    3. Information We Collect Automatically

3.1 Device and usage. Device type, operating system, app version, and how you use the app, including screens viewed and bookings made.

3.2 Location. If you allow it, your device's precise location. This is optional. You can use TalkiBar by selecting your city instead, and declining does not prevent you from booking events.

3.3 Diagnostics. Crash reports and error data, collected through Sentry, and server logs held by our hosting provider.

    4. Payment Information

4.1 Payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card number. We receive a record of each transaction, including the amount, currency, date, product, and a transaction identifier.

    5. How We Use Your Information

5.1 To create and maintain your account and let you sign in.

5.2 To match you into groups and assign you to a table and a game. Section 7 explains how this works.

5.3 To sell you tickets, process refunds and credits, and keep records of your bookings.

5.4 To operate the messaging feature.

5.5 To review reports, enforce our Terms, and suspend accounts where necessary.

5.6 To send you the messages described in section 9.

5.7 To measure and improve our advertising, as described in section 8.

5.8 To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

    6. What Other People See

6.1 Other participants in your group can see your profile photograph, first name and last initial, age, nationality, gender, the languages you speak, your city and country, your interests, and your board game preferences.

6.2 Your messages are visible to the participant you send them to.

6.3 What you tell us through Meet Again is never shown to the other participant.

6.4 Before each event we give the venue only the first names of participants, their table numbers, and the assigned game. Venues do not receive surnames, photographs, ages, nationality, contact details, or anything else.

6.5 After you delete your account, participants from prior meetups may see a generic Deleted account placeholder in group or review history. It does not show your name, photograph, contact details, or other profile information.

    7. How Group Matching Works

7.1 Groups are formed by an automated system that uses artificial intelligence services provided by OpenAI and Google, and are then reviewed by a person at TalkiBar who may adjust the result before it is final.

7.2 Most of the grouping is done by our own systems. We send the artificial intelligence providers only the information needed for the parts of the decision they handle, which is your living status, your answers to our onboarding questions about speaking comfort and how you form opinions, your interests and board game preferences, and your Meet Again answers about other participants.

7.3 We do not send them your precise location, your nationality, or the languages you speak. We also do not send your name, email address, photograph, messages, or payment information.

7.4 Participants are identified to those providers by an internal account number rather than by name. That number, taken together with the information we do send, may still be capable of identifying you, so we treat it as your personal information rather than as anonymous data.

7.5 We use the paid business services of both providers, under terms that do not permit your information to be used to train their models by default.

7.6 If you would rather your information were not used in this way, contact us and we will stop sending it to those providers, though we may then be unable to place you in a group.

    8. Who Else We Share Information With

8.1 Service providers. We use DigitalOcean to host our application and database, Amazon Web Services to send email, Google Firebase to deliver push notifications, and Sentry for crash reporting. Our payment provider processes payments. Each acts on our instructions.

8.2 Maps and location. When you use location features, we use your device's location services, OpenStreetMap Nominatim to convert coordinates into place names, and Google Maps and Places to display maps and search for venues. On our website we also use ipapi.co to estimate your location from your network address.

8.3 Artificial intelligence providers. OpenAI and Google, for group matching, as described in section 7.

8.4 Sign-in providers. If you sign in through Facebook, Google, or Apple, that provider knows you use TalkiBar.

8.5 Advertising. We use Meta and Google advertising services to measure our advertising. Meta receives the language you selected during onboarding and how you signed up, together with activity such as screens viewed, bookings, and purchases. Google receives the names and values of conversion events only. We do not send either of them your name, email address, date of birth, gender, nationality, location, or any other profile answer.

8.6 Venues. As described in section 6.4.

8.7 Legal. Where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights or safety of any person.

8.8 Business transfer. If TalkiBar is acquired or merges, your information may transfer as part of that transaction.

8.9 We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

    9. Messages We Send You

9.1 Push notifications. Booking confirmations and event reminders are sent as push notifications. You can turn these off in your device settings.

9.2 Email. We email you to verify your address, to reset your password, and to reply when you contact us or submit a report.

9.3 City waitlist. If you ask to be told when TalkiBar opens in a city, we will email you about that city. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the message.

    10. How Long We Keep Information

10.1 Your account, profile, messages, and active booking records are kept until you delete your account or remove them yourself.

10.2 When you delete your account, we immediately delete the operational account and end your ability to sign in. We remove your profile and media from the active service, delete messages you sent, devices and push tokens, drafts, waitlist details, current booking records, invitations and connection records, and account activity logs. We also remove your email address from general experience feedback. Other participants' messages and conversation shells remain for those participants.

10.3 Some limited information is kept after deletion, and never as a public profile.

We link it to retained records where needed so those records remain associated after the operational account is deleted. If you register again with the same email address, we may use the hash to reconnect necessary retained records to the new account.
